Meet Our Team

Our dental team, consists of more than 30 staff members including 13 dentists, who are led by our principal dentist, Dr Clement Cheung.

In an effort to effectively cater to our multinational client base, all our dentists speak fluent English and Chinese to ensure you have the best experience possible.

All our dentists work together cooperatively and focus on providing comfortable, friendly and professional care for all our patients.

Meet our experienced team of dentists:

 

Dr Clement Cheung – Principal dentist

Dr Clement Cheung was born in China, Shenzhen, before he moved to Hong Kong in 1973. Dr Cheung attended King’s College in Hong Kong from 1975-1979 and Dentistry Sydney University from 1981-1985.

He then established the Ashfield surgery in 1986 and Hurstville surgery from 1995.

Dr Cheung is always interested in updating new techniques and continued education, from aesthetic dentistry to orthodontic courses and implant training.

His passion is in complicated oral surgery and implant placement and he has successfully placed thousands of implants over the last 10 years.

Dr Cheung is a very proud father of two high-school aged children, who are pursuing to follow in their father’s footsteps. His hobbies are squash which he plays every week and he is a huge skiing fanatic.

Dr Cheung is a professional, experienced and friendly dentist who enjoys changing the lives of his patients, for the better.

Dr Lin Chen

Graduated with honors from Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Sydney. A polite and friendly dentist who enjoys his profession with passion and responsibility Dr Chen is a dedicated and skilled professional with experience in all general fields of dentistry. A conscientious individual who is willing to listen closely to patient’s concerns and working together with the technician to achieve the best possible practice of the highest standard. Dr Chen believes that patient should be treated as a human being not just treating their teeth. Patient’s satisfaction is his ultimate goal in dentistry. Practicing with the most innovative and modern equipment, your experience whether as an individual or as a family will be the most comfortable and beneficial. A genuinely caring and down to earth professional who will put your discomfort and concerns to easy and helping you to maintain your healthy teeth and gums.

Dr Wai Hung Sung

Dr. Wai Hung Sung (a.k.a. Adia Sung) obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Hong Kong. Having been brought up in the colonial Hong Kong, the “East-meets-West” culture and philosophy led him to take up the challenge to acquire his Diploma of Clinical Acupuncture, offered by SPACE (School of Professional and Continuing Education) at the University of Hong Kong. Upon migrating to Australia and practising dentistry, Dr. Sung furthered his studies and obtained his Bachelor of Health Sciences in Traditional Chinese Medicine at the University of Technology, Sydney, and then his Master of Herbal Medicines at the University of Sydney.

Before practising dentistry in Sydney, Dr. Sung had practised in Hong Kong. He was previously registered with both the Dental Council of Hong Kong and the General Dental Council in London. He is currently registered with the Dental Board of New South Wales since obtaining his accreditations with the Australian Dental Council in 2000. Dr. Sung is always passionate about his profession. He is patient-oriented and patient-focus; and the standard of his work always reflects this quality.

Dr Sarah Ooi

Dr Sarah Ooi graduated with Bachelor of Dental Surgery in University of Adelaide, in South Australia. She has been a full time associate dentist with our surgery for a number of years. Patients of all backgrounds enjoy seeing Dr Ooi as she is fluent in many languages including Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien, Malay and English. Dr Ooi enjoys practicing general dentistry with special interest in treating children and providing prosthodontic and oral surgery treatment. Dr Ooi believes that we should treat our patient in the same way that we will treat our family. Dr Ooi’s practise philosophy is “to treat every patient as a whole, not the individual tooth” and “the best treatment is prevention”.

Dr Nancy Wu – BMedSci, BDent (USyd)

Dr Nancy Wu completed a Bachelor of Medical Science and a Bachelor of Dentistry from the University of Sydney. Currently, she is working as a fulltime dentist as well as working as a member of staff at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Sydney. There, she is involved in tutoring dental students in the discipline of Tooth Conservation. Dr Wu is fluent in Mandarin, the Shanghai dialect and English. Dr Wu is interested in all aspects of general dentistry and enjoys working with children. She has a strong ethical philosophy and takes a gentle and caring approach with all her patients.

Dr Erica Wong

Erica was born in Hong Kong and graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Adelaide. She is interested in various aspects of dental care, notably preventive, restorative and cosmetic treatments. The reasons for Erica to choose to become a dentist was to improve the oral health of her patients; recreate beautiful smiles and improve the quality of life for as many members of the community as possible throughout her career.

She has great interpersonal skills and is able to communicate in fluent English and Chinese (including Cantonese, Mandarin and Chiu Chow) which allows her to develop a good rapport with patients and colleagues. Besides, she is a passionate, dedicated person and motivated to learn from and work with others; always striving to improve her skills by gratefully receiving feedback and continuing her postgraduate education.

She values patients’ feedback and aims to achieve a high standard of work in order to provide a satisfactory and pleasant experience for patients. She is gentle and considerate to her patients’ dental needs.

Dr Cecilia Yong

meet-ceciliaDr Cecilia Yong was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and completed high school at Adelaide prior to graduating from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery.

Dr Yong went on to work in the public dental sector and volunteered her services to treating underprivileged children in rural Shanxi, China before joining Dr Cheung’s practice.

She has a quote that she instills with her work ethics “I treat my patients the way I want my family members to be treated”. This can be demonstrated through her genuine concern for her patient’s oral health as she treats her patients in a family friendly holistic approach. It brings her great joy to see their confidence restored with a beautiful smile.

Dr Yong is committed in providing her patients with the best possible dental care through continuing education. She is competent in all aspects of General Dentistry with interest in Paediatric Dentistry and is able to put even the most dentally anxious child at ease. She is a member of the Australian Dental Association and enjoys spending time with her family and friends after work.

Dr Qiushi Zeng

Dr Qiushi Zeng has a Bachelor of Pharmacy and a Bachelor of Dentistry with
Honours from the University of Sydney. She is also the recipient of the
Pierre Fauchard Academy Undergraduate Award of Merit for her excellent
performance in the dental program. Qiushi has interests in all aspects of
general dentistry. She is a strong believer of preventative and
conservative dentistry, and is committed at delivering care at maximum
comfort of the patient. Qiushi is fluent in both Mandarin and English.
When Qiushi is not practising dentistry, she enjoys music, racquet sports
and travelling.

Mandy Nga-Man Liu
BMedSci MPH BDent (Hons)

Mandy is a highly qualified and motivated dentist who graduated from the University of Sydney. During her extensive studies Mandy has continually excelled, striving to achieve success in all aspect of her education. Mandy has received many awards and scholarships for excellence including The HJC Cusack Memorial Prize for clinical proficiency and Australian Dental Research Foundation scholarship.

Mandy is a highly successful published researcher in the field of public health who has presented at international conferences. Mandy volunteered to return to The university of Sydney following her research to provide academic support to disadvantaged international students from third world countries. Mandy has taken her interest in research and transformed it into a continuing desire to achieve clinical excellence through an ever evolving knowledge of the most up to date research and clinical techniques.

Mandy has gained a wide variety of clinical experiences working in public hospitals in both Sydney and Ballina, the Royal Flying Doctor’s Service in Broken Hill and her time working in private clinics in Sydney.
