A root canal treatment is a dental procedure intended to treat infection at the centre of a tooth. The infection is often caused by bacteria that live in the mouth and invade the tooth when:

In order to remove the bacteria that is causing the infection, we can perform a root canal treatment by extracting the tooth or attempting to save the tooth by removing the surrounding bacteria.
